A few years ago, my first grandchild was born and I entered the secret realm of nannahood.
Even though I had heard much about what being a nanna was like from those who had gone before and even had had a couple of nannas of my own, this was a totally new experience for me. I approached this new chapter of my life with much enthusiasm yet found that I needed to acquire some new skills.
While my mothering skills were certainly a great place to start, I felt I needed to upskill somewhat so I could offer my daughter as much support as I could (and relevant 21st Century support) and get ready to take my place as The Most Awesome Nanna EVER!
I have two beautiful granddaughters these days and have managed to practice my nannering skills on them so I thought I would pass on to you some of the tricks of the trade that I had picked up so far.
You will find all kinds of good stuff here so please take the time to look around and even to send me your own tips . . . after all, us nannas need to stick together and share our Secret Nanna's Business with all the newbies!
